Upper Dolpo Trek (27 Days)

An isolated path, Upper Dolpo is located in mid-west part of Nepal. Upper Dolpo is enclosed by the Shey-Phoksundo National Park which is near to Tibet border and falls at the back of Mt. Dhaulagiri. Upper Dolpo is culturally allied to Tibet is an area having quite a few Buddhist monasteries. The region has sealed final leftovers Tibetan way of life. Also, the area was considered as restricted part for the foreigners before 1989and was behind the scenes from the exterior world. At present, Upper Dolpo has been well-known as a natural set of high passes, exceptional faunas, eye-catching panorama, as well as the ancient Tibetan culture.

This area holds wild lives like Leopards, Blue sheep, Jackal, Himalayan Thar, Himalayan Mouse Hare, Himalaya black Bear, yellow-throated Marten, Himalayan Weasel, Musk Deer, Rhesus Monkeys, Langur and number of other wild lives. Detailed Program

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu
As you reach at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, Third Eye Adventure arranges as airport representative who will meet you and end up the formalities (Visa, etc). You just need to confirm our representative with a show board at the way in gate. You will after that shift to the hotel. In the evening, we will have a welcome dinner at a long-established Nepalese restaurant and also observe a Nepal is cultural program. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing and preparing for trek
Today, you will go for sightseeing in Kathmandu. The main fascinations of the sightseeing tour are going around Kathmandu valley where you can see many age-old temples, architectures and more; going around Boudhanath which is one of the biggest Buddhist Stupa in the entire world; Swayambhunath, a renowned monkey temple falling at the hillock; Pashupatinath, a prominent Hindu temple and numerous enthralling places to visit. And many of them are enlisted in UNESCO’s world heritage list. Also, we will prepare for trek today. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Nepalgunj (165m)
We will fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj located on the edge to India. After reaching Nepalgunj, we will shift to hotel. On this day, we can go around the Bageshwari Temple devoted to Goddess Kali. Moreover, in Nepalgunj, you can make a visit to a bazaar here which has varied materiald on sale. Overnight in Nepalgunj.

Day 04: Nepalgunj to Juphal to Dunai
Today, we will fly from Nepalgunj to Juphal (2345m). When we arrive at Juphal (2500m), we start a short walk to Dunai (2050m). We stroll down passing through grazing land and get around via not many houses to the tiny hotels at Kala Gaura. Later, we go side by side with the river that makes way up to Dunai. We install our camp near to Dunai to stay overnight.

Day 05: Dunai to Chepka
Today, we will be traversing the large bridge and then we will walk to the west, then we will walk beside the Bheri River to its connection with the Suli Gaad river. After about an hour, we go into Kal Rupi and then walk to arrive at Raktang (2260m). We will walk on the west bank and go by a lot of grazing regions higher than an edging to Jyalhasa. We will after that pass all the way through bridge above the east bank, and then pass through the Ankhe River (2460m). Also, we will go round on the older path that takes us to national park falling at Ankhe, and trek via Pahela plus Rahagoun communities. Now, the track reaches Phoksundo Lake and then reaches Chepka (2670m). Overnight in Chepka.

Day 06: Chepka to Renjo
We will on this day follow the trail at the surface of the river then shift through the west side to elapse from a magnificent crest and roll in the region of the east part. After that, our path moves and goes down to pass forests of larches, and stroll next to stream that takes us to the region of Renje. Overnight in Renjo.

Day 07: Renjo to Ringmo
Today we will shift east and our path becomes slender. We after that set off over a crest and move a little down to a bridge and pass all along the vale to the blending of the Pungmo River. Now, the path reaches to beautiful Phoksundo Lake and then path go to Shey Gompa. We go up via cedar woods and get to Palam village lying at 3710m. We will get into Shey Phoksumdo National Park positioned at the south part of the village. From this point we can see a notable 200m cascade. The way moves next to birch woods to the profoundly apparent Phoksundo River. Next, we escalate to Ringmo village, an eye-catching spot with a lot of chortens plus mani walls. Overnight in Ringmo.

Day 08: Rest Day at Ringmo
Today we will rest in Ringmo for proper acclimatization. We walk ahead from juniper wodds and move toward Pal Sentan Thasoon Chholing monastery. Also, we will view five different monasteries which holds Buddhist statues, paintings, etc. Overnight in Ringmo.

Day 09: Ringmo to Chunemba
On this day will stroll on a rock-strewn edging after passing the west part of the beautiful lake. On the way, we can perceive the glacier from the upper slant of Kanjeralwa. We subsequently turn up to a ridge falling at 4060m for an astonishing picture of the lake with the snowy Sonam Kang Peak in the setting. The trail moves to the front and walks along pines, birches, to the west part of the lake. The track takes us to a long a giant valley. We walk on a cloudy lane through scrub woods as well as spiny bushes. We set the camp at Chunemba (3630m) to stay overnight.

Day 10: Chunemba to Lar Tsa
We will shift next to the pathway that reaches the north spot via a glacial gorge. We after that traverse the eastern side of Phoksundo. We trek on the key ravine for an extra hour to Kang Gompa. We will from here view astounding scenes of Kang Chunne (6443m) plus Shey Shikar (6139m). We will go down unhurriedly on a gritty track to Lar Tsa. Overnight at camp in Lar Tsa.

Day 11: Lar Tsa to Mendok Din
We traverse a bridge and hike to reach at 4490m; subsequently we will ascend to a peak falling at 4640m. We later go down tenderly to Mendok Ding. We yet again go up beside the river to a camp lying at 4610m.

Day 12: Mendok Din to Shey Gompa
We will move to Phoksumdo River, and wind north peak of Riwo Drugdra. We go diagonally to the Sehu La placed at west side of Crystal Mountain. At this time, the path descends to a slope to a green meadow beside the river and moves on a series of long downhill and climbs crossways from side to side with edges. We now have a rough rise to a climax at 5010m and a further at 4860m. We start descend to the Tar valley and reach at Tsakang, an old monasteries clinging alongside a cliff. We set our camp at Shey Gompa for overnight.

Day 13: Rest Day
Today we will rest in Shey Gompa for proper acclimatization. Also, we might go across the river all the way from side to side with a bridge and climb by way of a big chorten and a vast view to the Shey gompa (4390m).  Overnight at Shey Gompa again.

Day 14: Shey Gompa to Namgung
Departing from Shey Gompa, we will today walk to east direction and move corner to corner to an altitude 5010m where Shey La is sited. Now, we go encircling North part and drop down prior to move up one more time to Namgung located at 4430m. Overnight in Namgung.

Day 15: Namgung to Karang
We will be passing through the Namgung River to reach Karang falling at the height of 4050m today. After that, we have a walk to move down to get to Saldang at the beach of the river. Overnight in Karang.

Day 16: Karang to Mugaon
We move effortlessly down to Torak Sumdo positioned at the height of 3670m. Here we can see Polang River merging with Namgung and then walk zigzag to the north beach. We rise up to Yanger gompa falling at 3750m and amble next to the elegant river side gorge. We will be camping next to the river positioned at 4100m on the point of Mugaon.

Day 17: Mugaon to Shimen
We will move to the valley to get to Mugaon on this day and move up to the Mushi La at an altitude of 5030m. Then we walk down to Shimen community. We will finish our trek for today and install our camp above the community (4010m).

Day 18: Shimen to Tinje
We walk to the river and take up a path to enter at Pha at a elevation of 4090m. After that we will walk to our ending set for today, to arrive at Tinje lying at an altitude of 4150m. Overnight at Tinje.

Day 19: Tinje to Rakpa
We trek at the reverse side of the landing field on Tinje and leisurely walk next to a junction spot positioned at 4130m, where a lofty track takes to Tarap. We move southern direction to camp on the beach of the river at Rakpa to be found at an altitude of 4530m. Overnight at Rakpa.

Day 20: Rakpa to Chharka
We start with a wide-ranging way up to arrive at the Chharka La at 4920m. We get on the path to move continuously down to arrive at the valley falling at 4290m. We will stroll at the reverse side of the lovely village of Chharka on the side of Barbung River positioned at 4120m. Overnight at Chharka.

Day 21: Chharka to Norbulung
We will on this day hike up to an edging at 4380m and next we will go down one more time to a river today. We go subsequently to panel sited southward, and move about along the smooth valleys on a bumpy track. The gorge narrows, we after that takes us walk up to the camp at Norbulung falling at an elevation of 4750m.

Day 22: Norbulung to Sangda Phedi
We begin walking upward to a yak grazing ground at Molum Sumna to be found at a loftiness of 4860m then amble to a climax at 5130m. We stroll crossways through meadows to the bottom of the Sangda La. Subsequently we will have a lengthy, vertical final way up for today to the pass at an altitude of 5460m. In Sanga Phedi we will put up our camp for overnight stay.

Day 23: Sangda Phedi to Sangda

Day 24: Sangda to Dhagarjun

Day 25: Dhagarjun to- Jomsom
On this we will leave Dhagarjun, to Jomsom reach taking approximately 3 hours. The long way down starts but turns steeper ahead of easing off to a mild fall to Muktinath (3802m). Here famous temple Muktinath greets us. Overnight at a lodge.

Day 26: Jomsom to Pokhara to Kathmandu
We will catch the flights from Jomsom to reach Pokhara which are generally in the early morning because of the high storms which destroys the Kali Gandaki Valley afterward in the day. The eye-catching flight above the majestic views of Niligiri and Dhaulagiri appears. We fly to Pokhara and taking another flight we will come back to Kathmandu.

Day 27: Fly back to your destination
