Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1320m).

Your tour starts as you arrive at the airport in Kathmandu.  Upon your arrival we will greet you with a traditional garland (floral wreath worn around your neck). This is our way of saying welcome to Nepal.  You will then be transferred by private car to your hotel to settle in.  You might choose to go for a walk around after some rest and later in the evening we will organize a welcome dinner at an excellent traditional Nepalese Restaurant.

Day 02: Kathmandu guided city tour

In the morning after having breakfast you will drive to Bodhnath. Bodhnath is the largest stupa of Nepal. Around the octagonal base of stupa there are 108 images of Buddha where prayer ceremonies of Buddhist Lamas are taking place since over 2000 years. Then you will proceed to visit the temple of Pashupatinath which is Nepal's most important Hindu pilgrim site on the banks of the Bagmati River. The temple of Pashupatinath is dedicated to god Shiva. In the afternoon proceed for a half day sightseeing tour of Patan city. Patan was the second largest town in the valley but it has been absorbed into Kathmandu. After visiting Patan you will proceed to visit the Swayambhunath. The stupa at Swayambhunath is the most important and oldest site of Buddhist worship in Nepal. Swayambhunath Stupa is famous for the eyes of Buddha which seem to be observing the world from all 4 directions.

Day 03: Drive Kathmandu to Bhulbhule (800m/2,624ft) about 8 hours Drive

We leave early and drive to the village of Bhulbhule, just north of Pokhara. The spectacular journey, which takes approximately 8 hours, offers travellers an exciting adventure along Nepal's cliff-side road network.

Day 04: Day 4 Bhulbhule to Jagat (1,410m/4,625ft) about 7 Hours

The trail to Chame is surrounded by amphitheatre-shaped rice terraces, steep cliffs, villages and lush forests. We follow the Marsyangdi River as we travel through the village of Syange (1,100m/3,609ft). The days hiking ends as we hike the last trail from Syange to Jagat (1,300m/4,265ft).

Day 05: Jagat to Dharapani (1,960m/6,430ft) about 6 hours.

Higher in the Manang region, local crops transition from rice to corn, barley and potatoes. We continue up the Marsyangdi river valley through forests of bamboo and rhododendrons. On the way is the village Tal, which sits along a sandy beach and beautiful waterfall.

Day 06: Dharapani to Chame (2,710m/8,891ft) about 6 hours.

We follow a set of steep forested ridges, where it is common to see several landslides along the trail. This trail offers sensational views of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II and Annapurna IV (7,525m/24,688ft). Trekkers can enjoy "spa" time in nature at the hot-springs at Chame.

Day 07: Chame to Pisang (3,300m/10,827ft) about 6 Hours

The trek to Pisang is dominated by a dramatic curved rock face, rising nearly a mile from the river. As we travel into the alpine regions of the Himalayan range, the forests and vegetation we experienced earlier disappear. You will get spectacular photos as we cross and re-cross the river via several suspension bridges.

Day 08: Pisang to Manang (3,535m/11,598ft) about 6 hours.

The trek to Manang offers several variations depending on the level of adventure you crave. The lower and less-strenuous route, which takes around five hours, follows a trail contouring the valley and stunning views of the Manang valley. As you continue on the trail and over multiple ridges, breathtaking views of Annapurna III (7,555m/24,787ft) will greet you as the trail rises to the left, passing through the village of Hongde. 

The high route offers a serious eight-hour adventure for any trekker looking for an extra challenge. The high route follows the east bank of the Marshyangdi River valley. As you leave the village, the trail continues to rise until crossing a beautiful mountain stream. Then strenuous zigzag climbing leads to the village of Ghyaru. A visit to the gompa at the top of the village offers wonderful views of Annapurna II and Annapurna IV. The trail continues, passing through the Ngawal village. After Ngawal, you will descend back to the valley floor and rejoin the main trail, bringing you to the villages of Braga and Manang.

Day 09: Rest and relaxation in Manang (3,535m/11,598ft)

The village of Manang offers a nice spot to rest, relax and adjust to the higher altitude. It is essential to acclimatize, as we are now high in the Himalayas. Take some time to walk around and enjoy the village. There are several beautiful lakes near the village, as well as souvenir shopping and a clinic run by the Himalayan Rescue Association.

Day 10 Trek to Letdar (4250m/13940ft) about 5 hours.

Thoroughly acclimatized, we advance towards Thorung La. On the way, we cross a stream, climb to Tengi, 120meters above Manang and ascend further past Marshyangdi Valley turning north-west up the valley of the Jarsang Khola. Amid the spectacular vistas of Annapurna mountain range, we trek beyond the lush vegetation of scrub juniper and alpine grasses to reach the small village of Gunsang. Gunsang is a cluster of flat mud roofs just below the trail at 3960 meters. Along the route, we see several lodges. As we approach picturesque meadows and rich forests of barberry, juniper etc, we encounter horses and yaks grazing. The trail takes us further along a large stream that flows from Chulu West and Gundang, and leads to a rich pasture at 4000 meters.

Day 11: Trek to Thorung Phedi (4500m/14760ft) about 4 hours.

Leaving Letdar, we climb gradually to a ridge before descending to the headwaters of the Marshyangdi and crossing via a covered wooden bridge. After a short ascent up the mountain path on the right bank, we follow a narrow trail across an unstable steep slope and then descend to Thorung Phedi.  If you still have some energy why not continue up to high Camp for the night.

Day 12: Trek to Muktinath (3,800m/12,467ft) crossing Thorung La Pass (5,416m/17,769ft) about8 hours.

If we stay in Phedi, this early morning start begins with a challenge.  At dawn, we ascend steeply for approximately one hour to a notch in the trail at 4,679m/15,351ft.  From high camp we continue up the trail, ascending several false summits before we top out at the Thorong La pass 5,416m/17,769ft.  The pass is decorated with a large cairn and Buddhist prayer flags.  You will have spectacular views of the Annapurna Range to the south and the Mukut Himal bordering Dolpo to the west. After the four-hour trek to the pass, the decent to Muktinath takes three to four hours. The decent offers stunning views of Dhaulagiri (8,175m/26,821ft), Tukuche Peak (6,920m/22,703ft) and the valley of the Kali Gandaki below.

Day 13: Muktinath to Jomsom (3,800m/12464ft) (Option to hire Mountain Bike)

Muktinath village is an important site for Hindus and Buddhists, where pilgrims come to offer donations at the Vishnu Temple and Gompa.  After visiting in the morning you can walk to the next town of Jomsom, or for those looking for some more adventure, why not hire a mountain bike and ride along the border of the Upper Mustang region.

Day 14: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara 

Early wake up today as we catch our flight from Jomsom to Pokhara.  Enjoy a scenic mountain flight along the Annapurna’s.  Once in Pokhara you will be taken to your hotel.  The rest of the day is yours.  Relax at your hotel or go explore the Lakeside District of Pokhara.

Day 15: Return to Kathmandu (1,300m/4,265ft) about 6 hour Drive

From Pokhara, it’s a six-hour tourist bus ride back to Kathmandu. The highway is cut into the side of the river valley and follows a series of steep rocky gorges, landslides and roaring rapids, crossed by precarious suspension bridges. After we enter the Kathmandu valley, fell free to shop and sightseen and fare well dinner in authentic Nepali restaurant with cultural program.

Day 16: Farewell from Nepal as you fly back home

Our agency’s representative will greet you at your hotel and offer you a Khada (a kind of cloth which is worn on your neck). Wearing Khada means good luck and protection. Afterwards they will drop you to the airport.

Useful Information for Third Eye Adventure

Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is one of the essential parts to craft before you travel so that you shall be protected against wide-ranging expenses likely to gain due to health issues or accidents which include helicopter rescue, air ambulance, treatment costs etc.

Accommodations 
There are two sorts of accommodations during the trek. You will stay two nights in Kathmandu in a 3-star hotel while during your trek you will stay in typical teahouse or lodge or guest house or hotel with unheated rooms with foam mattresses in wood beds. We make available attached bathrooms as much as feasible; still there are some places which can only offer shared washing and bathroom facilities.

Meals 
During the trek, you can get pleasure from typical Nepali cookery, diverse cultural cuisines as well as international food including Tibetan, Italian, Continental, Indian, etc. You will have your breakfast at the same teahouse or lodge where you spent your night while lunch will be dished up en-route to destination; and dinner will be served at the place where you will spend the night.

Acclimatization 
High altitude sickness is likely to occur. The fraction dispersion of hemoglobin with oxygen resolves the substance of oxygen in our blood. When we reach around 2,100 m high above sea level the diffusion of oxyhemoglobin begins to drop. Nevertheless, the human being has both.

Travel Insurance

It would be best of you to make a travel insurance before the trips that will be protected against comprehensive expenses potential to incur due to medical issues or accidents (to include air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and treatment costs). Please be noted that we don"t arrange or sell insurance.

Accommodations
All accommodations for Annapurna Base Camp Trek are on twin sharing basis included in the trip cost and are chosen based on standard of hygiene, standard of service and food, location, etc. There are two styles of accommodations during our trekking. You will spend two nights in a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu and during your trekking you will spend 10 nights in standard teahouse/lodge/hotel in which there are unheated rooms with wooden beds and foam mattresses. We provide attached rooms as much as possible, however teahouses/lodges of some places only have shared washing and toilet facilities. If you are a solo traveler, you will share a room with someone else of same sex of your group. If you prefer a single room, you may indicate your preference and get single rooms on request by paying single supplement.

Meals
During the Trek, you can enjoy typical Nepali cuisen, different ethnic cuisines as well as all types of international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.) from pizza and Chips to apple pie. You can even enjoy hot chocolates, variety of breads, variety of drinks, and snacks. Breakfast of a day will be provided from the teahouse/lodge menu where you spent your night. Lunch will be served on the way to destination, dinner and breakfast in the teahouse where you will spend the night. A welcome dinner, a farewell dinner and breakfasts will be provided during your stay in Kathmandu and breakfast will be provided in Pokhara.

Acclimatization
The effects of high altitude on humans are considerable. The percentage saturation of hemoglobin with oxygen determines the content of oxygen in our blood. After the human body reaches around 2,100 m (7,000 feet) above sea level, the saturation of oxyhemoglobin begins to plummet. However, the human body has both short-term and long-term adaptations to altitude that allow it to partially compensate for the lack of oxygen. Athletes use these adaptations to help their performance. There is a limit to the level of adaptation: mountaineers refer to the altitudes above 8,000 metres (26,000 ft) as the "death zone", where no human body can acclimatize.

The Annapurna Region is stunningly beautiful, but equally fragile. We enforce a number of do"s and don"ts, and our experienced staffs can advise you on how to minimize your impact.

Best Season
Autumn (mid Sept to mid Dec) and Spring(March to May) are the best seasons for the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek. The weather is sunny and warm, with outstanding views but the nights are cold and can fall to freezing. Winter (Dec, Jan, Feb) is also good for Annapurna Base Camp Walk, only colder (obviously). The trekking routes are crowded during spring and autumn but during winter the routes are not packed and you could enjoy rather best of nature.
