Himlung Himal (7126m) lies between Nepal and Tibet border in the north side and the Manaslu and Annapurna grandly stands above the Tibetan community of Phu in the west region of Nepal. The region has been opened only in 2001 by the government of Nepal and from the time few expedition trips has been arranged in this region. 

Himlung Expedition starts after driving from Kathmandu to Besisahar taking around 6 hours, and after that we will walk via the Annapurna circuit path till Koto. Then, we will walk to the west to reach Dharmasala, followed by to Tibetan villages such as- Meta, Phugaon, Kyang etc and have local exploration. We will set up our Base Camp at an altitude of 4842m on a lush ground. Normally we will set three high camps before reaching the summit. We will put on Camp I at the altitude of 5,450m. Then Camp II at an elevation of 6,000m and the Camp 3 at the height of 6,350m. Besides, our Sherpas guides will help us set up a range of camps for well acclimatization and we endeavor to Summate Himlung Himal on a favorable day.


Himlung Expedition with Third Eye Adventure will offer you a chance to walk through remote villages of Nepal and Tibet border. Also, the route passes through high peaks, passes, narrow gullies, glaciers, forests, springs, rocks, Gompas as well as unique cultural settlements. Detailed itinerary:-

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu
As you reach at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, Third Eye Adventure arranges as airport representative who will meet you and end up the formalities (Visa, etc). You just need to confirm our representative with a show board at the way in gate. You will after that shift to the hotel. In the evening, we will have a welcome dinner at a long-established Nepalese restaurant and also observe a Nepal is cultural program. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing and preparing for trek
Today, you will go for sightseeing in Kathmandu. The main fascinations of the sightseeing tour are going around Kathmandu valley where you can see many age-old temples, architectures and more; going around Boudhanath which is one of the biggest Buddhist Stupa in the entire world; Swayambhunath, a renowned monkey temple falling at the hillock; Pashupatinath, a prominent Hindu temple and numerous enthralling places to visit. And many of them are enlisted in UNESCO’s world heritage list. Also, we will prepare for trek today. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Days 03: Kathmandu to Besisahar (770m)
We go ahead from Kathmandu and drive to Besisahar. The road we drive through will take us along the Trishuli Valley. We get magnificent views of the peaks, mostly the Ganesh Himal as well as Manaslu as we go after the river towards Mugling. We afterward twirl from the major road and move to Besisahar way where we start on our trek.

Day 04: Trek to Ngadi
From Besisahar we trek along to the stream and traverse to the east part. Our trail lifts higher than the river, ongoing north way up to the Marsyangdi Valley. The path takes us on calm trails from side to side with rice paddies and settlements until we gather with the main track at Bhulebule. The way moves with the eastern side of the river walking along an eye-catching waterfall to Ngadi.

Days 05: Trek to Jagat
Today, we will walk over the suspension bridge and after that start on a firm ascend through scrub woods to reach Lampatta, a Manangi area keeping Tibetan mode of prayer flags. A sudden rise brings us to the community of Bahundanda. From the crest we move downward to Syange (1136m). The path then makes way to Jagat.

Days 06: Trek to Dharapani (1848m)
After crossing rising and declining path, we will reach Chyamje. Then we will pass a suspension bridge and make way through oak woods. The river goes away from sight as we clamber over a point. The pathway then comes out into valley where we arrive at Tal, the next community is placed at the bottom of a grand falls (1700m). We will traverse the river and climb the contracting valley, sliding down to cross the stream to the community of Dharapani lying at 1943m. Overnight in Dharapani.

Day 08: Dharapani to Koto
On this day, our way moves on to ascend to Bagarchap located at 2164m. Then, we go at the back of the trail from side to side with forest to Dhanagyu and scale up to Temang. Here we can observe the wonderful views of Manaslu plus Peak 29. The trail then descends all the way via fir and pine woods to Koto. Overnight in Koto.

Day 09: Koto to Dharmasala
We will have a quite challenging day today while moving from Koto to Dharmashala. Passing the check post we will traverse a river that takes us to Nar Phu valleys. We will walk to beautiful jungle over Phu River. Then we will pass several tiny caves as well as pilgrims named as Dharmashala. We will walk out of narrow valley and walk under wide cascade. We will notice jungle turning thinner. We will camp at Dharmashala.

Day 10: Dharmasala to Kyang
We will have a steep ascend and we will walk along beautiful River that takes us to high land at an altitude of 3200m. We will walk by scenic Meta at 3560m which is a winter spot of Nar. We will see white rocks, juniper, orange leafed bushes, white sandy trails and more. We will see Phu Koshi shadowing below the path. We will pass by Khampa settlement, Chako where prayer flags wave. We will after passing ups and downs reach Kyang where we will set our camp to stay overnight.

Day 11: Kyang to Phu Gaun
We will make way down to the river Phu. And walk all along the river shore passing submarine rocks. We will get to see colorful chortens. We will ascend to tiny glacial river before arriving to a big bridge. And just before the bridge to Phu, a series of chortens takes us to the major settlement of Phu whwere we will set our camp for overnight.

Day 12: Phu Gaun - Himlung Base camp
From Phu Gaun, we will today trek to Himlung Base Camp. We will set up our Base Camp at an altitude of 4842m on a lush ground. Overnight in the base camp.

Day 13-34: Climbing Period of Himlung Himal and return to Base camp
Normally we will set three high camps before reaching the summit. We will put on Camp I at the altitude of 5,450m. Then Camp II at an elevation of 6,000m and the Camp 3 at the height of 6,350m. Besides, our Sherpas guides will help us set up a range of camps for well acclimatization and we endeavor to Summate Himlung Himal on a favorable day.

Day 35: Base Camp to Phugaun
We will depart from the base camp to reach Phu gaun again. And walk all along the river shore passing submarine rocks. We will get to see colorful chortens once again. Ovennight in Phu Gaun again.

Day 36: Phu Khola to Dharmasala
Leaving Phu Gaon, we will reach Dharmashala today. We will see white rocks, juniper, orange leafed bushes, white sandy trails and more. We will see Phu Koshi shadowing below the path. We will pass by Khampa settlement, Chako where prayer flags wave. Overnight in Dharmashala.

Day 37: Dharmashala to Koto
We will set off from Dharmashala to return back to Koto. Here we can observe the wonderful views of Manaslu plus Peak 29. The trail then passes all the way via fir and pine woods to Koto. Overnight in Koto.

Day 38: Koto to Dharapani
On this day, we will return to Dharapani. We will traverse the river and the contracting valley. Also we will be passing the stream to the community of Dharapani lying at 1943m. Overnight in Dharapani.

Day 39: Dharapani to Jagat
We will reach Jagat from Dharapani. We can see waterfalls are all over, and the plant life becomes a blend between the lush abundance and the forest of a elevated mountain altitude. Overnight in Jagat.

Day 40: Jagat to Nadi
We will walk to reach Nadi from Jagat. We will walk through narrow trails, bridges and a deep stream gorge. We can view the. Lamjung (22,291 Ft.), Peak 29 (24,652 Ft.), Manaslu (26,760 Ft.) and many more. Overnight at Nadi.

Day 41: Ngadi to Besisahar to Kathmandu
We will walk from Ngadi to Besisahar. Then we will drive from Besisahar to Kathmandu. And, in the evening today, in Kathmandu we will together have leave-taking dinner. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 42: Final Departure
Our airport agent will take you to the Tribhuvan International Airport for your return to you home country. We will hope to see you again since we organize a lot of other peak climbing options, as well as tours, expeditions, and sports activities.
