Long River Trips

Our longer rafting trips take you into some of Nepal’s most remote areas.  These trips generally begin with a short trek to the river.  We employ local porters to carry our gear and supplies, so all you need to carry is your own personal belongings.

Many of our long trips finish close to some of our less easily accessible National Parks and Wildlife Reserves (the Karnali trip actually finishes in the Bardia National Park). So you may wish to combine your rafting trip with a safari adventure and go in search for tigers, bears and one horned Rhinos!

Sun Koshi River

The Sun Koshi River is famous for being one of the top 10 river journeys in the world.  Start your trip surrounded by high mountains, open valleys, and forests.  You can enjoy a fairly relaxed start as you make your way past small remote villages, navigating class 3 rapids and perfect for your teamwork to develop.  But as you wind your way across the country, the size of the rapids will increase.

At a distance of 270km, the Sun Koshi River offers the chance to see a very special part of Nepal that is rarely seen by outsides.

Karnali River

The Karnali River is probably the most definitive Himalayan white water adventures of all, set in one of the most remote and least explored western region of Nepal.  The lowland trek combined with some of the most beautiful canyons found in Nepal, make this one of the most memorable river trips available in the country.  This is a favourite amongst guides and rafters alike.  The surrounding are almost sheer wilderness with a wide variety of fauna and flora including dense forest and jungle full of monkeys, deer and colourful birds.

After the monsoon rains the rapids become demanding and huge, yet relatively straightforward.  As the river flows through narrow canyons the speed of water increases and so do the rapids.  In the dryer months the rapids are more technical but equally as exciting.

This trip is ideal for those wanting a unique river experience, filled with stunning scenery and great river action.  The take out point is ideally suited to those wishing to also visit Bardia National Park.
